Your Getaway Guide

It’s good that we’re here...
— Rob Bell

This is a quote that we have had in our family for a few years. It all stemmed out of a year that just sucked, really sucked.

It didn’t magically fix situations or instantly change our circumstances. But it helped us find joy in the present moment and see that it is just that–a moment in time.

So this weekend, if you want, take a moment, look across the table, and raise a glass. In the midst of all the shit, acknowledge the moment and then tell it to fuck off by saying,

“It’s good that we’re here.”

ITINERARY

Thursday:
Hooray! You’ve made it. Time to kick things off right! Grab some dinner out or order in, relax at the loft, and get ready for a night cap like no other.

Dinner suggestions:

Your reservation for Cloak and Dagger is at 9:00PM.

Here’s the address:
Cloak & Dagger
2399 W 11th St
Cleveland, OH 44113

Reservation is under Jeff Rettig

The cocktails here are absolutely wonderful, try a seasonal option or get one of their Legends. They offer great vegan snacks (the fries are really incredible as is the popcorn). The atmosphere’s a vibe and if you’re having more than one drink we’d suggest an Uber.

Friday:
Don’t wake too early! Sleep in…

Our strongest suggestion for Friday morning, all mornings at that, is grabbing coffee . We love Rising Star, they have locations spread throughout the city and the coffee is top notch. Phoenix Coffee is also a great alternative and they have many locations as well.

Here’s a Rising Star location close to the loft:
Rising Star Coffee
13368 Madison Ave #4840
Lakewood, OH 44107

Relax the day away and do nothing if you want. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area but if you just want to veg on the couch (or in bed), do it. No shame in that.

Your evening dinner is at one of our favorite places in Cleveland. The food is spectacular, the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and the piano puts the cherry on top. Your reservation at Pier W is at 7:00PM.

Here’s the address:
Pier W
12700 Lake Ave
Lakewood, OH 44107

Reservation is under Jeff Rettig

Parking can be a bit confusing. Just follow the signs and pick a spot. You truly could spend the whole evening here but, if you want something else to do, head into Ohio City and grab some ice cream at Mitchell’s or grab some after dinner beers at Market Garden Brewery.

Saturday:
We left the day open for you. Go nuts and enjoy yourselves. We wouldn’t leave you high and dry though so here are some suggestions.

Brunch options we like:

Things to do:

  • Check out the West Side Market

  • Eat & drink. We love to eat and drink, there isn’t much better than that.

  • There’s a cool area on the north side of Ohio City called Hingetown. There’s a Rising Star location there, some good doughnuts, and a few other spots to hang.

  • Explore the east side of Cleveland. Little Italy, University Circle, Cleveland Heights, and the Cleveland Art Museum are all over there.

  • Masthead Brewery or Noble Beast brewing are great spots for lunch.

You don’t have to do any of those things either. They’re all just suggestions.

Dinner options we like:

Sunday:
Don’t just jump back into the week ahead. Take a sec and keep relaxing. Checkout is 10:00AM but you don’t have to leave Cleveland right away. Grab some coffee, get some brunch and just keep on relaxing. The week will be there on Monday, no need to let it start early.
